There were days that went by so quickly, Sirius felt as if they had been stolen away. Today was not one of those days. In fact, it was quite the opposite. While the raven-haired boy had an aptitude for all things fun, he couldn’t seem to find anyone worth his time and the boredom this brought was unnerving. It was a rare thing, but he actually found himself wishing the day would just end already. If it wasn’t for his annoying inability to sleep while lacking complete exhaustion, he might have been able to take care of his boredom like any normal teen… not that he was normal, or anything. No, Sirius Black was certainly extraordinary.
The young Gryffindor walked out onto the school grounds and sat in the grass just outside of Hogwarts' exquisite gardens, facing the whomping willow from his distance. While he assumed Remus hated the sight of the tree… or what it represented, he couldn’t wait for the next full moon. He was utterly bored and, now that they had mastered their animagus forms, he’d been having more fun of it than he probably should have. It was all with good intentions, though! Beyond amusing themselves, what the three Gryffindors did, the did in order to help a friend, and that seemed a perfectly honorable reason to break the rules.
Sirius had had two of the greatest summers imaginable since moving in with James, and the other boy's parents had taken Sirius in as their own. He vowed to one day repay the debt he owed to them when the first opportunity showed itself (only after, of course, getting his own place so that he could stop imposing on them). The boy honestly couldn’t think of two more wonderful people in the world, but he never envied James; he was glad his friend was happy and he was glad to now be considered part of such a great family. It was like he suddenly had a real brother, not just the bad excuse for a puppet he was unfortunate enough to have to claim... well, he supposed he didn't have to anymore. He was, of course, disowned...
Laying back with his hands behind his head, he closed his eyes and let the sun wash over his face as he lay in pensive thought before a shadow cast over his face, blocking the sun.
