( DEMENTOR'S KISS ) : Her brother chasing her around the house with a snake, trying to get her to admit why she's afraid of them. She was terrified she'd slip up and begin to speak to them.

Outsider - Dominique feels like an outcast amongst the members of her own house. She feels like an outcast, even amongst the members of her own family.
Sassy - Nique has a very much I-don't-care-what-you-think-and-there's-nothing-you-can-do-about-it attitude. She has a tendancy to make smart ass comments and act in way which might be considered rude sometimes because of this particular personnality trait.
Saracastic - Well, Nique has a knack for the use of sarcasm in her speech. She's the sort of person who will turn to you with this false incredulity on her face after you've said something blantently obvious and say "Gosh, thanks tips"
Artistic - Nique is a great singer and an awesome painter/drawing artist too. She writes poetry and sometimes even her own songs.

( HAIR ) : Her hair is fairly long and it's bright red in color, it has cute swishy layers to it too.
( EYES ) : She has fairly wide eyes in a robin's egg blue. Naturally, she doesn't have super thick lashes, but she likes to use mascara to plumpen them.
( FACIAL STRUCTURE ) : She has a somewhat oval shaped face with a cute little buttonish nose which slopes eagerly before turning up a bit. Almost like a ski hill. She has high cheek bones and full peach colored lips.
( BODY STRUCTURE ) : She's short, standing at only about 5.2" with a wiry build and subtle curves. Her weight is approxamately 115lbs though it's been a while since she last weighed herself.
( ATTIRE ) : As a general rule, Nique dresses somewhere between somewhat rebellious and preppy. Odd combo, I know, but she makes it work.
( SUMMARY ) : Dominique has this look about her which simply goes perfectly with her personnality. She's sassy and she shows this just through even the way she holds herself. When she stands, she usually stands with her hands on her dainty hips and on a bit of a slant too. She usually ties her hair up, but sometimes she lets it fall down, it sometimes feathers out which she dislikes. Nique has beautiful green blue eyes which are wide and often twinkling with either mischeif or fun. She's altogether a fairly pretty girl without being in-your-face obnoxiously sexy. She doesn't carry all of her looks on her chest and in fact, she isn't exactly the curviest of girls and she certainly doesn't have an hour glass shape. If anything, she's often annoyed by her lack of feminine looks. She's learned to get past this, but it still annoys her to a fairly high degree.

Shelly Jackson is a pureblood Hufflepuff alumni who used to live close to Nique's family, she befriended Nique despite her parents protests and eventually effected the way Nique's personnality was. She probably stopped her from being evil like the rest of her family.
( HISTORY ) : Herpo the foul is known for being one of the darkest wizards of all time. He went down in history books for his creation of the basilisk and horcruxes. He is the first known dark wizard, possibly the darkest wizard before Voldemort himself. He was nautorious for being the creator of the first basilisk, he was able to control this enormous snake since he was also the first documented parslemouth, his decendants held to the belief that the one of them who held that gift would rise to become the next 'dark lord'. No one bet on the nicest Hastings girl ever to live to be the parslemouth. Dominique Jennifer Hastings was born to Abraxas and Serpa Hastings July 14th. She was a cute, bubbly, happy baby and she grew to be like this as a toddler too. Her parents thought it was just a faze and that she would quickly grow out of it. Her older brother Alaric had been somewhat happy as a small child and now at four years old (for he was two years her elder), he had taken upon the more brooding and moody demeanor of the Hastings name.

Well, Dominique didn't grow out of it. She befriended a witch down the street from them who liked to read and write and play. She was fun, unlike the Hastings family who, by now (Nique was five) not only had Alaric and Dominique, but Flint (two years her junior) and Nissa (four years her junior). Dominique paid little mind to her family or to the family life they shared. She loved to listen to Ms. Jackson (for that was the name of her friend) read the tales of Beedle the Bard to her. Her parents didn't approve of these stories since some of them spoke of muggle/wizard breeding which they were strongly against. Just the thought of speaking with a muggle or muggleborn was thouroughlly disgusting. The Hastings were blood purists though and through, they were nearly as particular about their blood as the Malfoys were. They had many children, five to be exact. Each child was two years apart from their next sibling. Alaric, Dominique, Flint, Nissa and Rune were the five Hastings children. All of them cruel and cold hearted, except for Dominique.

By the time Nique had hit nine years old she had begun to form a bit of a smart-mouth attitude. She snapped at people and often made sarcastic comments which vexed her father. She actually enjoyed this verbal torture she inflicted upon her family. Deep inside she hated herself for it, but on the outside she remained the girl with a bad attitude and quick tongue. This might be why she was put into Slytherin. Of course, her parents were thrilled, thinking there might still be a chance their little girl would be "evil". No. Nique's attitude began to improve. She had a smart attitude and a uncanny ability for sassy back talk, but besides that, she was kind and wouldn't hurt a fly.
